ALLYSHIP WEEK

Activist, Laura LeMoon, wrote, “An ally should be personally gaining nothing through their activism. In fact, if you are an ally, you should be losing things through your activism; space, voice, recognition, validation, identity and ego.” 
We did a campaign strategy and development around that topic and created a typography piece, posters, social media posts, stickers and enamel pins. This partnership encourages allies to: 
  1. Redirect compensation.
  2. Not take an organizer role but rather a service role.
  3. Work under the leadership of the communities they are allies to.
  4. Continuously support those communities, not just once or twice. 
  5. Employ and refer folks from those communities.
