GLSEN

Branding, graphic design and art direction for GLSEN, LGBTQ nonprofit. Selected pieces range from Days of Action campaigns (Day of Silence, No Name-Calling Week and Ally Week), new shopify products, illustrations and printed materials for GLSEN events such as RESPECT (GLSEN’s biggest fundraising event which raises millions of dollars) and Chapter Leadership Institute (GLSEN’s gathering of all national chapters).

Social Awareness:

  • Our brand strategy focused on racial justice and accessibility, so we handed out a brand guideline to match the materials we created. We tested how GLSEN’s color worked in a variety of colorblind scales and developed guides around those.
  • LGBTQ youth were consulted to ensure designs were created with their input and were adequately represented.
  • We pushed for representation that was lacking, such as Middle-Eastern and Native LGBTQs, which resulted in the GLSEN Research Institute to launch a specific LGBTQ reported focused on those groups.
  • We worked together to ensure language was correct and honored the communities they referred to.

The Dream Creative is a remarkably talented graphic designer and all-around creative who was an invaluable team member in solidifying the organization's brand through print and digital design, product, and creative production. It was a privilege having their talents leading our design and contributing to our campaigns, programs, and fundraising, and I highly recommend them.
