The brief: Horizons Foundation is the world’s first community foundation of, by, and for LGBTQ people. Click to see full rebranding process.
The client expressed that the original brand lacked authentic connection with its missions, values and audiences. The new Horizons is altruistic, is an expert, is bold and most importantly, that Horizons will be by your side forever.
The design: Horizons’ new logo is the embodiment of what makes the foundation unique: that they will be there to serve the LGBTQ community forever. We also made it necessary, when representing the foundation’s brand, to include a brand line: our LGBTQ foundation. Moreover, Horizons alone is easier to represent visually and to remember, facilitating closer connections to the foundation’s brand.

Changing the Game
The brief: Changing the Game is a program to give resources for educators and students to ensure that physical education classes and athletics are inclusive for LGBTQ+ individuals. LGBTQ+ students want to see themselves represented and will play a role in picking the final logo. The logo has to have an education feel.

The solution: We created an emblem that created a sense of “we’re official”, which was something that was lacking for the youth. It was also important to tell a story that tied together all elements of the program while being playful and bright.

Center for Institution and Social Change
The brief: The Center for Institutional and Social Change (Change Center) facilitates the collaboration of scholars, practitioners, community advocates, students, policymakers, and artists striving to address structural inequality through institutional transformation and centering justice.
We found out there was disconnect between who the Change Center used to be and how they wanted to exist in the world. This point of tension was the beginning of a brand overhaul bringing social justice to the forefront through the branding and logo process.

The design: We focused on a design that expressed both forward-thinking (typography perspective) and safety (square shape), since the Change Center is both radical and functions within a traditional institution.
