Stanford Social Innovation Review Global Illustrations

We partnered with Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR) to create a series of 8 global illustrations, each tackling different local and global social matters.
We were tasked with:
  • Picking a hand-feel aesthetic that was inspired creativity, not perfectionism. We picked hand markers with jagged edges.
  • Honoring each country, their vision, their culture and symbolisms.
  • Creating illustrations with bold and vibrant colors.
  • Depicting the clients’ article and translating it into visuals.

Social Justice Design

  • We applied our racial and social justice lens to create illustrations that depict people of color in powerful and vibrant ways.
  • With the application of a social justice lens, we made sure not to perpetuate further trauma through the illustrations while being proactive about the clients’ needs.
